This is a very early basin bit made by Mattison Glasgow. The unusual feature of this is the spring to hold the bit is still working, rarely ever seen. It has a wooden, a wooden rotating handle with the brass insert. Most unusual to see that still on it. It has a Matheson bit in it, so it's a wonderful unit. These were pre 1800, in beautiful order.Collection
