This is a Bakelite base, for a little, holder of a gramophone needle that is rubbed along a rod. There is an abrasive surface on the end. This is to sharpen gramophone needles that have lost their edge. Very hard to find. This one is called the I'm Point Master Patent, 1939.Collection
