This is depression improvisation at its best. This is all homemade from kerosene tins. These were used by Duck Shooters to carry, quite large quantities of, cartridges which were cardboard and not waterproof. These had a lid, in 2 compartments, a large lid and a small one. They had a piece of train or leather that went to their belts so that as they walked around, this thing floated on top of the water and it could be pulled in either direction. This one is in excellent condition. No holes. Just a wonderful example of what they were made for.Collection
