A wooden Chinese Life Measure from the Chinese Collection. This one has bracing of pieces of metal all around to strengthen. Heavy wooden handles on either side. These do not have a lid. They were, when filled with rice, a piece of wood was swept over the top to make it level for uniform measuring. Quite an early piece,Collection
