Coin Sorting ApparatusEntry/Object ID
4824Description
This is supposedly a coin sorting apparatus from the introduction of decimal currency from pounds, shillings, and pence, made by the Dowling company. The actual mechanism is difficult to work out. I can tell you what it does. You do put all your 5 coins in there whether it be 20¢ pieces. Each one of these grabs 5 and shoots out a dollars worth of coins. It's probably come out of a poker machine venue or something like that to issue out what $5, $1 lots. Oh, I see. That's why it's got the dollar. Oh, yeah.$1 so it'd be 4 5.20¢ pieces and each time you do it, it's a dollar. Oh, right. So it's probably come out of Yeah. Poke machine venue. The mechanism appears to be able to, sort coins into $1 categories.20¢ coins. 20¢ coins so each swish of the handle drops $1 in from 5.20¢ coins. Could have been used in a casino. Yeah. Pokey. That's not true, weren't they? RSL's. RSL's Pokey Machine Clubs,Collection
