The first one is a bull leader, spring loaded. The spring holds the lock up to keep the pieces together. Quite cleverly made. The third one is meant to be a temporary chain link joiner. If you happen to break a chain, they've got you to where you want to go in a temporary fashion. Made of heavy cast iron
