This a Chinese design water pump used to lift water from shallow wells. This pump is a two man operation and uses a wooden pump rod with a bucket valve at the bottom of rod and a flap valve at the bottom of pump to lift the water whilst refilling pump with water behind the bucket valve. this allows short pump strokes whilst lifting the water from greater depth. No brand on this pump however Holloways of Ballarat are known to have made this type of pump.Collection
