9149Description
This item is a very rare item. It is not something that I've seen before. It's made by Pyrox, who were a Melbourne company, Melbourne and Sydney. It's a wall-mounted lighter, which would have been used in place of matches. It has a petrol fuel tank. It would have used an ignition stick and you'd strike it on the front of the device itself once screwed to the wall.
On the back there are instructions. It says:
Pyrox Household Lighter Instructions for Use
To charge:
1\. Take out the striker.
2\. Pour in about 1 to 1.5 tbsp. of petrol into the container.
3\. Do not let it overflow.
4\. Replace the striker.
5\. Wipe off any spilled petrol.
6\. To light remove the striker.
7\. Draw the points lightly down along the flint like striking a match.
8\. After use either blow out the flame or return the striker to the reservoir when the flame will be snuffed out.
New flints are available from Pyrox Pty Ltd Limited, Melbourne and Sydney.
