Description

The "Ediswan" moniker stems from a historic 1883 merger between the independent light bulb inventors Sir Joseph Swan and Thomas Edison. Initially, the company manufactured carbon filament lamps. However, around 1910–1911, they moved into metal filament production at their Ponders End factory in England, introducing the "Royal Ediswan" line. The "Royal" designation reflected their status as suppliers "By Appointment to His Majesty The King".
