Description

Tied Quilt believed to have been made by Catherine McLeod Mounts, the daughter of fort worker John McLeod. The quilt appears to be entirely hand sewn, with a variety of print cotton patterns mostly in blue tones, 3 squares have brown fields. The Mounts family lived in the area of Fort Nisqually so this quilt could possibly be using print cottons that were available in the fort's sale shop. Very tentative date of 1875, possibly using older fabrics. Conservation work was performed on the quilt in 2012.
