A stone pestle Native artifact from the Columbia River area. Pestle is made of dark stone material, possibly granite or hardstone. Pestles were generally utilized for grinding corn or gain into a fine powder used for flour, this one is possibly known as a "Salmon Packer". Salmon packers were used to pack salmon and pemmican into baskets for storage. Measures 12 1/2 inches in length.Dimensions
