Book owned by Dr. William Fraser Tolmie when he was still a medical student in Glasgow: "Lexicon Medicum: or Medical Dictionary" by Robert Hooper. This dictionary not only included medical definitions of diseases and symptoms, but a review in the 1833 "London Medical and Surgical Journal, Volume 2" recognized the book for its value as a technical dictionary as well, explaining the practical terminology of the medical sciences. This edition is leather bound, with green marbled front and back cover, published in London, 1831. The spine reads "Hooper's Medical Dictionary". Measures 8 3/4 inches tall, 5 7/8 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide. 1311 pages long, including index. Signed and dated by Tolmie on title page, 1830.Dimensions
