Description

Leather saddlebag, for use on horseback. This style of saddlebag would sit behind the saddle, and would be attached with straps and ties. It represents the travel Dr. Tolmie would have had to engage in as the Chief Factor of Fort Nisqually and head of the Puget Sound Agricultural Company. Composed of two bags attached by a thick leather strap that would rest across the horse's back, each bag measures 12 inches tall, 14 inches long, and 3 1/2 inches thick.
