Description

A dolman belonging to Letitia Work Huggins, donated by her descendants. A dolman is a specific type of cape-like robe, with a front opening and wide sleeves. This dolman is black, has prominent lacework, and the front has hook and eye fastenings. On each side of the dolman there are lace frills from the neck down to the hem, as well as going down the middle of the back. The trimming goes around the end of each sleeve, and there is a bow at the waist. The garment measures 51 inches long, with sleeves that are 21 1/2 inches long.
