Moosehide bag, with beadwork on the edges and fringe. Bags such as this were typical personal possessions among the Native and European laborers of the Hudson's Bay Company, serving the same purpose as a modern pocket or purse. This bag measures approximately 14 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 6 inches long across the front. It is light brown in color, has a cylindrical shape, and is decorated with black and clear glass beads around the edges of the drawstring opening. Regularly spaced fringe around the top of the bag has blue, red, and yellow beads spaced out along each strand. Fringe attached to the bottom of the bag also has beads in these colors spaced at similar intervals along each piece of fringe.Dimensions
