Toothpaste pot, lid only. Earthenware, yellowed with age. Transfer print label on top depicts a profile of the young Queen Victoria, and the text reads "Cherry Toothpaste, Patronized by the Queen, For Beautifying and Preserving the Teeth & Gums, Prepared by John Gosnell & Co. Ltd., London, Extra Moist". Some crazing, small chip on underside. This brand is documented in the archaeological reports of Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. A lid like this one was uncovered during excavations of that HBC fort. Measures 3 1/8 inches in diameter across the top, and 1 inch thick.Inscription/Signature/Marks
