Interpretative Labels

Label

When opened, this miniature diptych icon juxtaposes a scene of the Annunciation – when the Angel Gabriel told Mary she would give birth to the Christ child – and a painted scene of Mary with Joseph. Two crosses and geometric ornament adorn the exterior surfaces of the panels, offering further encouragement of devotion when closed.
