Label

Each leaf is a rectangle divided into quadrants and surmounted with a raised, ogee-arch crest. Attached by piano hinges, leaves close over one another from both ends. The outer back or cover of the icon celebrates the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross in image and text. Each of the twenty reserves contains numerous figures, usually in a landscape. Panel A: Crest: The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ with the Image not made by human hands 1.
