20th-c. carbon steel and wood spear from the Kuba peoples of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The carbon-steel head is in the shape of a spade. The head tapers down to a conical shaft attached by a pin and a pair of curved iron panels to the top of the lengthy wooden pole. The pole widens gradually toward the midsection and tapers again toward the iron tip spike.Made/Created
