Pastel portrait of John E. Lonergan. In 1933, an extension of College/Barbelin Hall named John E. Lonergan School of Mechanics was built after a sizable donation from the estate of John E. Lonergan. The Lonergan School was to house more rooms for the science programs. Today, the Lonergan name remains in what is known as Barbelin / Lonergan Hall.
