One of Engman’s favorite techniques was using a variety of patinas for his bronze sculptures, typically green–as seen here–or black. This piece also exemplifies Engman’s creativity and interest in exploring form through warped shapes. Three large circles, for example, are molded together into a new silhouette. Engman experimented with this combination in other works, including in his monumental Triune (1975), which sits outside of Philadelphia’s City Hall.Label Type
