Two Stuffed PigeonsEntry/Object ID
2022.5.1Description
These two pigeons were used in the canonization ceremony of St. Isaac Jogues and the North American Martyrs in Rome on June 29, 1930. They were then sent to Wernersville. They arrived in a gilded bird cage with the papal arms and the seal of the Society of Jesus. Unfortunately, one died in transit, so the second was subsequently euthanized. Both were then mounted and placed in glass bell jars.Interpretative Labels
