A semi-automatic, short-recoil-operated military pistol utilizing a characteristic toggle-lock action mechanism. The firearm is configured with an extended 200 mm (8-inch) round barrel topped with an adjustable 8-position tangent rear sight graduated from 100 to 800 meters. The side grips are composed of two-piece checkered brown walnut wood. The pistol retains a high level of mechanical and component originality. The full four-digit factory serial number "1321" is stamped on the lower frame (above the trigger guard) and underneath the barrel. The firearm does not have a matching magazine serial number.

Intended for mobile artillery teams, machine gun squads, and trench-raiding units, the "Artillery Luger" paired an extended eight-inch barrel with an adjustable tangent sight calibrated out to 800 meters. This specimen was manufactured in 1914—the only year the state-run Erfurt Arsenal produced this long-barreled variant before pivoting entirely to infantry rifles.Category
