Wooden gavel with two inscribed metal bands at ends; "Presented to Fredericksburg Lodge no. 4 A.F. & A.M. Feb 22 1897 by William J. Crawford of Buffalo, NY", "This gavel is made from a tree which grew within the cellar walls of the Wakefield House where Washington was born. House burned in 1735."
