2020.1.33Description
The image shows the bust of a white, middle-aged man with a round face, mustache, and closely cropped, combed-back hair. He is wearing a dark suit jacket, a white collared shirt, and a dark tie. He is looking slightly off to the side of the viewer, and behind him is a mottled background. The image is in black and white, though most of the tones found throughout are darker in saturation and there seems to be an overall brownish tinge to the image. On the back of the image there is adhesive residue along the edges, as well as three handwritten inscriptions, all of which appear to be written in pencil. The first of these inscriptions is in cursive, and reads "A.P. Rowe, Jr. 1894." It is written diagonally in the center and center right potions of the print. The second inscription, also in cursive, reads "Absolen Prescott," and is also written diagonally, thought smaller than the first inscription. It is near the bottom center of the print. Finally, the last inscription is written in print letters, reading "A.P. Rowe, Jr. 1894." It is also located at the bottom center of the print, nearer the bottom edge and below the second inscription, though above the line of adhesive residue.
