2020.1.37Description
The image shows the bust of a white, middle- to late-aged man with a round face, thin lips, hooded eyelids, and graying hair parted to the right. The image is black and white and is mostly medium gray in color. The man is wearing a dark suit jacket, a dark vest, a white, collared shirt, and a patterned tie. There is a pin on his tie, as well as on the lapel of his suit jacket. The man has a slight smile and is looking directly at the camera. The background behind the man varies in color and is partially covered in shadow. There are areas of abrasion along the edges of the front of the print, as well as a thin, white border around the image. On the reverse of the image is adhesive residue around the edges of the print, as well as a small, rounded stain near the top right corner. There are also two cursive inscriptions written in pencil. The first of which, located slightly below and to the right of the approximate center of the print, reads "E. M. Young." The second inscription, centered and directedly above the adhesive residue along the bottom edge of the print, reads "Mr. E. M. Young." The "E.M." portion of this inscription is slightly above the rest of the inscription.
