General Notes

Note

This Hadrosaur femur was discovered by Greg Hagenston in 1969 and painstakingly excavated in two sections. The sections were wrapped in Scotch Brand masking tape and carried to my vehicle with the help of Pat Norton. After bringing the fossil home, the prep work began by scraping the dirt off of surface. Once both sections were ready, I drilled a hole and inserted a steel rod into the bone to give it support. It was glued together with many tubes of Duco cement. Several coats of urethane varnish adds the finishing touches on the fossil, protecting the surface from deterioration and making it ready for display.
