Note
This was the last attempt at plaster casting a bone in the field and attempting to carry it out. The weight collapsed the stretcher as my dad and I were trying to carry it out and the bone crumbled. After this disaster we changed to a masking tape wrap and this method worked much better. My note written with red ink on apiece of cardboard described the event. It says:
LAST REMAINING PIECE OF HIP BONE (2nd one) DISCOVERED BY MIKE MCCRATE AND I and taken out half way BY MIKE, JOHN, AND I. THE OTHER HALF WAY OUT IT WAS CARRIED BY MY DAD AND I. JOHN, MIKE AND I plastered it up and placed it on the stretcher. THE STRETCHER FOLDED AND CAUSED THE DISASTER.
