The tip of this Triceratops Brow Horn was missing when the fossil was found. It was found broken into three pieces, and the tip, which would have been the fourth section had evidently separated from the main section, and washed away to be buried in the sediment somewhere never to be found. You can tell which side was exposed to the sunlight by the bleached surfaced compared to the reverse side which was lying on the ground. Urethane varnish was coated on the surface to bring out the color and texture and protect the surface from sloughing off.
