Notes

The two men on the left are Johnny Huggins (a horse racer in early Fulshear) and his brother, Edward Mayes Huggins. (Their sister Frances Martha Huggins married Dr. Robert Locke Harris). Dr. Robert Locke Harris (my ggrandfather) is the 4th from the left. Flanking him are his sons, Dr. Robert Dudley Harris (known as Dr. Bob in Fulshear) and Dr. Eugene Augustus Harris (of Navasota). The mother of these two sons of Dr. Robert Locke Harris, was Fanny Huggins. The second wife of Dr. RL Harris was Emma Quinn, of Navasota. Emma died of an accidental gunshot in the front yard of their home. One of her stepsons had been cleaning a gun and it fired and she was hit. Her infant son, Thomas, was sent to live with her parents, and later died around age three of some unnamed illness. The third wife of Dr. RL Harris was Sallie Bright Holliday. She bore nine children--seven of them grew to adulthood. My grandfather, Hunter Pickney Harris was her second son. You probably know that this photograph is on the wall in Doziers in Fulshear.
