Havana Florida based artist, Mark Georgiades has been honing his skills as a sculptor and a painter for many years. He blends his skills as a mechanic and his love of art to create his welded metal sculpture. Georgiades works with steel, copper and aluminum which is welded together to form his unique structure. His inspiration comes from nature and fantasy. He likes to create edgy work, usually distorting the size and proportion of his subjects. Georgiades uses color and the illusion of motion to create “mood” within his sculptures. While he has always been involved in his art to some extent in the past, he as been focusing primarily on his art since 2014. Georgiades has had a meteoric rise as an artist, and has exhibited throughout the Southern region. He had a solo exhibition at Gadsden Arts in 2023 in the Munroe Family Community Gallery titled, Visage .
