Elvin H. Kever (d. 2010) Born and raised in Gadsden County, Elvin Kever resided in Tallahassee, Florida, until his death in 2010. He retired in 2002 after working for 26 years with the Federal Department of Justice as a woodworking foreman. Kever worked with wood most of his life and was introduced to woodturning in 1995. Kever preferred to use native green woods and used the lathe to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. The artist never never used stain or color on his works, just a clear finish.
