Bob Fincher (1933-2016) Bob Fincher was a woodturner as well as a fine art painter working primarily in oils and acrylics. Fincher was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, but fell in love with Florida when he enrolled at Florida State University. He created art since he was a child, but gravitated toward wood towards the end of his life. Fincher loved to create his bowls on a lathe and as nonfunctional art objects. He would only use domestic woods that were obtained predominated from North Florida, as a result of road clearings or storm damage. He was proud that no living trees were ever cut for his creative process. Fincher's woodturning won several awards in regional art festivals and exhibitions.
