Description

2-piece machine-stitched girl's princess polonaise dress; made of brown silk taffeta with narrow stripes of space dyed yarn, (giving a ikat effect). Top (a) - high round neckline; long narrow sleeves set high on the shoulder, kilted frill at base of draped cuff and around the skirt hem. Skirt (b) - lined with glazed brown cotton, shaped at the bottom and pulled into puffs with blue and white striped cotton tapes. Polonaise has dropped waist with an asymmetrically draped apron front beneath a long V-shaped panel on the center front containing shirred fabric on the bias.
