Description

Entirely hand-stitched infant dress made of white linen; opens down the back. The selvedge forming the finish of the back opening and a finely butted seam down the center front; very fine handkerchief hem. Shoulder "straps" and elbow-length tubular sleeves with deep fold-back cuffs edged with narrow hand made lace and a delicate embroidered vine border above. In center front and back are rows of thread buttons worked on metal rings, in such a way as to be laced by a ribbon, cord or tape.
