Description

Entirely hand-stitched dress and pelerine made of cotton (brown and turquoise) plaid or gingham. Dress (a) - dress with high waist, set-in waistband; bodice on bias; 2 bust darts; drapery over bust centered with a piped strip; wide shallow neckline; piped bands form faux SB seam; upper sleeve has dense, narrow pleats bound at the bottom with a popped band with a self frill; wide at elbow; tapered to a close fitted wrist with a slit; skirt made of straight panels attached in medium pleats except in back where it is tightly gathered; back opening, hooks and eye; bodice lined and hem faced with dark brown glazed plain weave cotton lining; small tuck above hem. Pelerine (b) short pelerine; dips in front and back; high round neckline; unlined; finished around bottom with self frill.
