Description

Entirely hand-stitched boy's vest and pants made of thin, napped scarlet wool broadcloth dyed. Vest (a) - high neckline with bound edge; proper right top is pieced; single breasted; closes with chased silvered buttons; lined with ivory twilled cotton in back; the front and outer back fabric is heavy plain weave ivory cotton; inside is a cotton band with 4 button holes stitched around the waist. Pants (b) - legs are long and narrow, cut with angled side seams to create a stylish fit and flare over the foot; proper fly front with 4 stamped brass buttons; 4 buttonholes in waistband; waistband facing has a widely spaced spot print.
