Description

Tiny or miniature Quaker bonnet, (possibly a doll’s), entirely hand stitched, perfectly formed. Outer fabric is celadon green silk. lined with buckram; cardboard brim lined with thin ivory silk. Brim is fairly deep with rounded corners, smoothly covered. The crown is neatly gathered onto it over stiffened buckram pleated over a mold. The bavolet has a pleat above the hem, topped by a self-band of folded silk formed into a tailored bow at center back. Self-ties. Old wad of cotton inside crown, removed. About 3” long. (Front to back)
