A photographic tintype of a hatted woman in late middle age. She wears a dark hat with upturned brim piled high with ruching, fabric flowers and feathers. Her eyes are light, hair pulled back and her face is narrow with a staring expression. Her dress is of a dark material with high collar trimmed with narrow lace, a bow tied around the neck, covered buttons down the front, and a trim of plaid fabric as a vest, cuff gauntlets and skirt. The cuffs are pleated and trimmed with white lace. Her right arm rests in her lap, and her left arm on a jacquard cushioned arm trimmed with wide bullion fringe. The background is plain.Collection
