Cap

Entry/Object ID

G2004.121

Description

Day cap of (now)cream colored Carrimackross, prabably machine tamboured but there are some satin stitch details. Horseshoe crown with double brim, the underneath layer extending into long lappets with broad, rounded ends. Scallop-edged border all around. Floral wreath on crown surrounding a spray of grasses and flowers, repeated on the lappet. It appears that the back should have a casing to draw it in at the neck, but there is no evidence of it being so shaped.
