Entirely hand-stitched infant cap made of white dimity. Shaped to the head with a six-seam star effect in the back. Straight bottom edge just turned up for tiny hem. Very fine gauze or mull frill around front, whipped onto the edge; probably in period a tuck was made just behind the frill attachment to shorten the cap. The white cotton twill tape ties have a knot in the end and appear to have been attached very recently.
