Description

Fine but serviceable linen; entirely tiny hand stitched in linen thread. Narrow, deep square neckline, with ends of threads from removed frill, probably. Elbow length straight sleeves. Underarm gussets of coarser linen; wide reinforcement strips atop shoulders with topstitching. Four separate side gores front and back; proper left has butted selvages, other side not; the gores only go about half way up. Brown silk tiny cross stitched in front: “G-D/5/1803”
