Description

Entirely hand stitched linen. Hand embroidered scalloped edging and insertion with daisies and eyelets, along scooped neckline band and at cuffs of short puffed sleeves. Gussets at neckline ‘corners’ and under arms. Short finely pleated bosom with tiny mother of pearl buttons, and embroidered daisies between buttonholes, top is pair of holes for linked button. 1.15” hem. Gored skirt. Very fine work. Marked in ink, longhand inside front neckline: “Mrs. S E Clark from Amilin [?] Oct xxth [?] 1857”.
