Hair ornament made of horn (”blonde tortoiseshell”?) in the form of an arrow 6 3/4”
long, with a globe at the head, to which is attached an eyelet for a loose ring that
perfectly encircles the globe. The globe has a small silver 6-pointed star with seed
pearls in the center and each point; the ring is mostly covered with a slim silver
crescent with seed pearls. The side of the crescent has impressed marks;one is hard to
discern but looks like a profile of a person seated on the floor, clasping his legs, a
parrot on a branch, or a leaf draped over a twig. The next is clearly marked MR; the
third is unintelligible, a small square with perhaps “N” in it. Near the point, the word
“PATENT” is impressed.Collection
