Description

4-piece evening gown made of printed cotton calico. The print consists of a 'moire' pattern using chrome orange (chrome yellow exposed to alkali). The dress is partially deconstructed - suggesting "harvesting" after donation at a Calico ball. Bodice (a) - wide neckline (evening) with the center front coming to a slight point. Smocking or gathering at CF for fan-front style. The neckline has piping of self-fabric. Bodice lined with cotton. CB closure of hooks and eyes. No stays. Skirt (b)- unlined. Gathered all around waistband, and CB closure of hooks and eyes. Sleeve Attachment (c) - long bell sleeves attached to sloping shoulders. Scalloped. Unlined. Sleeve Cap Attachment (d) - scalloped.
