Description

Partly machine-stitched and hand-finished. Machine topstitching on all edges. Straight cut. Knee-length coat made of brown wool on cotton warp, napped. The center back and side back seams. Narrow collar and short lapel, single-breasted with 4 thin disk buttons covered with black fabric, between waist and throat. No waist. Full skirts in front but tails and waist seam in back, 2 more buttons at the center back waist. Welt pocket in front at each hip. Another angled one on the left front body, brown lining cambric pocket bags. Very wide 2-piece ‘coat’ (lobster-claw) sleeves lined with coarse white lining cambric. Body lined with black twilled Italian quilted over batting around the sides and front.
