Entirely hand-stitched spencer jacket made of white silk and cylinder-printed cotton. The pattern is of red on white foliage stripe with a faded yellow accent on the red stripe. Top stitched on belt and back seams. Gentle bust gathers. Long tubular sleeves with considerable fullness at the top. Wide seam allowance stitched down. Wide shoulder and back. High waist with waistband. Center front concealed hook and eye opening. Fairly large round standing collar with self piping and frill around the edge. Body lined with soft white cotton. Front left bodice is pieced very carefully from odd shaped bits indicating it was made up from a previous garment. This is also supported by the fact that one sleeve seam at the wrist has different fade levels on either side of the seam.Collection
