Description

"1.Corset is entirely hand stitched fine cotton sateen, the decorative stitches being golden yellow (perhaps from age) silk. The top has a rather flattened bust area formed by a grid of cording, bordered at base with decorative scallops. The back has diagonal cording between the shoulder blades. Bottom flares out; back has hand stitched eyelets and original lace and tags. Widely set shoulder straps. Inside stenciled with name in cartouche “Dorothy Morton.” Busk is formed of steel, covered with kid whipped together along one side. It is shaped to conform to the curve of the body, somewhat. The busk seems original to this garment.
