Description

1. Corset, entirely hand stitched white cotton sateen, lined with white plain weave cotton. Stitched with silk, now yellow, probably once white. High waistline suggested by band of floral vine embroidery crossed by center front busk channel, 21” across. No bust gores, upper portions decorated with flowers on leafy stems. Initials CR in script on either side of channel. No hip gores. Corded edges of back opening which has brass eyelets in staggered arrangement. Edges bound with white cotton twill tape. 2. Busk, slightly arched, made of simple strip of fine-grain wood, smoothed but unfinished."
