Entirely hand stitched linen (microscope identified), plain weave gauze with brocaded cotton pattern. Gathered onto a narrow plain weave linen tape folded over the gathers, and extending into long ties. Narrow hem on 3 sides including selvage sides. “W” cross stitched in greenish-brown silk below proper right waist. The design forms a border of stylized lilies and carnations or pinks around three sides; the field is filled with an alternated floret and abstract flower. 42” x 42”Collection
